Stronger

Lately I’ve been pondering why God puts hardship in our lives. When we become Christians, shouldn’t living be easier since we accept God’s plan? For many Christ followers, it can become the exact opposite. I know that everyone goes through hard times, but it’s hard to accept that it’s part of the Father’s plan for us to go through difficult trials.

So the question lies, why would God want this to happen to me? It takes a clear mind to really understand the answer to this. He wants us to be strong. Stronger as friends, stronger to face the trials ahead, and there will be more, but most of all, stronger Christians.

Being a stronger Christian leads to a better comprehension of what is to come. It doesn’t make it any easier to grasp the trials at hand. It’s interesting to think that our solace from these hard times, however, is the One who allows them into our lives. God wants what’s best for us, and sometimes it’s not what we think is best for us.

There are essentially two ways to react to a trial. I can give up and let it consume my life until there’s nowhere to turn, or I can save a huge amount of stress and pain, and talk to God about it. Life is tough, but it can only make me stronger. We need to cast our burdens to God because He will carry us through all of life if we realize it’s too hard to do it ourselves and accept Christ.

I pray that we can all stay strong in the face of hardship. God’s love for us is greater than any troubles that we will experience on our time here, and with His help, we can overcome this world and show the same love to others who need God in their times of suffering. God is so good.

I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said, 'You are my servant'; I have chosen you and have not rejected you. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:9-10
